Most shops list food by price alone. Miator does the opposite. We keep the name, the meaning, and the story with every product, so a jar of Gali is never only cassava.
Miator began with a simple idea: the food we grew up on deserves to keep it's language. In the Volta region and across Ghana, names like Akple Wɔ, Dzomi, Abɔbi (A-bor-bi) and Gali carry meanings, memories and various ways of cooking.
So we built a brand that carries those names forward. Food for the kitchen, snacks for the in-betweens and sweet-tooth, and drinks to pour cold, each packaged with care and presented with its story intact.
What you buy from Miator is original and represents the soul of the Volta Region of Ghana. Sharing our culture with the world.
Every product keeps its original Ewe name and its meaning, so what you buy strikes an indigenous chord that time travels into the early days.
We buy from the regions that make these foods, and package them without losing the crafts behind them.
From Gali to Sobolo, each item carries a connection to Ghanaian food culture and the people who grew up on it.
